Anna Li is a pianist whose striking spirit and sensitivity have captivated audiences worldwide. Her musical journey began at the age of five where she won her first piano competition, sparking a lifelong devotion to the instrument. This early success set her on a distinct path to study abroad in the United States. She would remain there for 14 years, practicing her craft at renowned institutions including The Juilliard School and the Eastman School of Music.

 

With an insatiable passion for performance, Anna has graced stages across the globe including Australia, Austria, China, Denmark, Germany, Italy, Spain, and the United States. In her home country of Australia, she is celebrated for standout appearances at the Queensland Parliament and the Brisbane celebration of the Beijing Olympics Grand Opening Ceremony, where her music resonated with diverse audiences.

 

Anna has earned top prizes in numerous international competitions, solidifying her reputation as a rising star in the classical music world. Notable accolades include the International Russian Music Piano Competition (San Jose), Berliner International Music Competition (Germany), Music International Grand Prix (Texas), Rubato International Piano Competition (Alabama), Palma d’Oro International Piano Competition (Italy), Mimas Festival International Competition (Italy), Metropolitan International Piano Competition (New York), and Vertex International Music Competition (Estonia) among others. Each achievement reflecting a determination to further pursue greater heights.

 

Anna has had the privilege of working and studying with distinguished artists such as Nelita True, Alexander Kobrin, Tamás Ungár, Natasha Vlassenko, Yoheved Kaplinsky, Robert McDonald, and Gary Graffman—prominent figures who have all profoundly influenced her musical development.

 

With the recent completion of her doctorate, Anna has concluded her educational journey and continues to embark on exciting new ventures. Through her experiences, she has forged connections with extraordinary musicians, fostering a strong belief in her generation’s ability to shape the future of music. “We are the ones with the power to change the musical landscape and make it accessible for the next generation,” she asserts. This conviction has led her to establish the Stellar Piano Academy, set to open in 2025, paving the way for a dual focus on concert life and music education.

 

In addition to her musical pursuits, Anna is a trained dancer, having achieved vocational level certification from the Royal Academy of Dance. This unique blend of disciplines enriches her artistry and performance presence. She is also an accomplished writer, with her work featured in the book A Number of Letters by Finding Bohemia.

 

With her remarkable talent, unwavering dedication, and vision for the future, Anna Li is not only a pianist to watch but a beacon of inspiration for aspiring musicians around the world.
