Competitions

QWDA has a strong history of presenting captivating performances that impress audiences and judges alike at competitions throughout Queensland. Upholding this commitment to excellence, we select a group of outstanding students each year to join our Competition Team. Divided into Junior, Elite and Senior groups, our Competition Team proudly represents the school across various age levels, showcasing QWDA’s dedication to high standards in the performing arts. 

Our Competition Team also performs at a variety of multicultural events across Queensland. QWDA is a valued guest at celebrations such as the Queensland Buddha Birth Day Festival, Brisbane Dragon Boat Festival, AQFA Mid-Autumn Festival and Multicultural Australia’s MOSAIC Festival, where we honor cultural diversity through our performances.

Selection for the Competition Team is based on performance proficiency, lesson frequency, and a willingness to commit to the team’s standards. The Competition Team typically requires additional rehearsals and higher levels of time investment. QWDA greatly values teamwork and collaboration, which means students that are unable uphold their commitments may not be eligible for the team.
